Boring women have immaculate kitchens!
So you can just imagine how messy mine is! With a household of 4 & a baby on the way, cleaning is something that I have to work hard at. Sometimes, it doesn't get done for days. Our kitchen table is a catch-all, harboring my recipe cards, a collection of pens & pencils, Ronny's keys & wallet, the daily mail, our daughter's school papers, our son's toys, & lately a myriad of appointment cards from my OB/GYN & baby magazines. Our table is well-loved, well-used, & almost always covered.
When I finally get the chance to clean it off, I'm amazed at how much junk we've collected, but it always provides good dinner conversation.
I started cooking at a young age, taught mostly by my Daddy, partly by my mom & grandmother, & nearly all the rest I learned on my own by trial & error. Cooking shows have been helpful along the way, but I've never put together a meal from one. Maybe one day...
In the meantime, I'm just trying to feed a growing family on a minimal food allowance each month. Sometimes it's hard, but we haven't gone hungry yet. I thank God for that...& for the ability to find meals in cabinets that hold barely anything at all.
